Through a rigorous selection process, Gamble & Yeates were chosen by Godiva to undertake a project to recruit a new management team based in London but with a remit across EMEA. These were Heads of Retail, Wholesale, Franchise & Development and Visual Merchandising.

As Godiva had little experience of recruiting or employing at a senior level in the UK, they asked for our guidance on the market perception of their brand and benchmarks for the salary and benefits for each role.

Head of Wholesale, EMEA

Originally positioned as Wholesale Manager, after we reviewed the level of influence and responsibility of the position, we recommended that the job title needed to be upgraded for this highly demanding role to a Head of Wholesale.  We presented four candidates and Godiva appointed a sales professional with extensive international experience who we headhunted from a global premium gifting multi-channel retailer.

Head of Franchise & Development


This role required specific knowledge of franchise operations and how to develop a brand strategically into a variety of countries and regions. We placed a professional with vast experience in working internationally with Costa Coffee and W H Smith who within 3 years was promoted to General Manager for Europe for the Godiva business.

Also appointed in this project were Head of Retail Operations EMEA and  Head of Visual Merchandising, EMEA.
